the illusionist, 2010
not the christian bale/hugh jackman movie that lulls you into boredom then blows your mind that one small time. but the latest from sylvain chomet of the triplets of belleville. it’s nice and sad and so very french.
it’s mainly set in scotland and in vivid detail. so much lurking in the background. challenge accepted. a lot of the movie is about consumerism, so there were tons of sale signs and ads as a reoccurring thing. also, lookie:
a boat named whiskey. kilty man.
the scottish diet.
