Q. So your husband, Tim Burton …actually, not your husband. How do you refer to Tim: your life partner, significant other, boyfriend?
A. I don’t know; I haven’t got a satisfactory word! Father of my bastards, perhaps?

famous person gets quoted for saying what a lot of people also say

"When I am assertive, I’m a bitch. When a man is assertive, he’s a boss. He bossed up. No negative connotation behind ‘bossed up.’ But lots of negative connotation behind being a bitch. Donald Trump can say, ‘You’re fired.’ Let Martha Stewart run her company the same way and be the same way. [People will say] ‘F—-ing old evil bitch!’ But Donald Trump, he gets to hang out with young bitches and have 50 different wives and just be cool….When you’re a girl, you have to be everything. You have to be dope at what you do but you have to be super sweet and you have to be sexy and you have to be this, you have to be that, and you have to be nice," she says. "It’s like, ‘I can’t be all those things at once. I’m a human being.’ "

nicki minaj on mtv

maybe i’m being mean. maybe i’m (like everyone else) confused about the word ‘feminism’. but nicki minaj is often called a feminist, most recently for this above conversation.

i get that she’s probably a role model because she’s a good rapper and one of the few successful female ones. but this here is just regular everyday talk, yes? am i being precious by thinking that this is too obvious to be considered a scoop, the story, let alone as an indicator of someone’s “feminist edge”?

we look at her all the time, but i wanted to hear her talk. and there are more in-depth interviews where she’s real articulate and smart, but what do i care? no, i care but just not now. i like the way she described how regular folks inspire her wardrobe v the runway, which i’m in agreement with so that’s the video.

go googling if you want her opinions on shadeism, runway experience and other crap.
